On the lake in Port Washington WI they have Fish Day as an excuse to eat lots of fish and get lots of drunk.... but they also have a parade and a car show and stuff.
First up, some parade cars & trucks
Thankfully no crowds were harmed
Just Raptor Things
After sitting in the sun close to the curb, I climbed the retaining wall behind me for a better vantage.... but it had an obstructed view to the left
Straight ahead wasn’t too bad though
Standing on the retaining wall offered an even BETTER view
Not sure what the deal is with the Corvette Club’s penchant for hand puppets...
Or large gloves
ZR-1!!!
There were actually TWO Corvette Clubs. The county, and a local city chapter. But why?
We didn’t stay for the whole parade because our daughters were in it, we left after they danced by and picked them up and headed to the car show. I didn’t take a LOT of pics, just interesting ( to me ) ones.
Who restores an Esprit when there’s so many Trans Ams and Formulas to choose from?
Found the ZR-1 from the parade

Tell me, how worn down was the paint on the trunk of the Allante from being pushed?

Shouldn’t a Fish Day show only feature Barracudas, Marlins, Stingrays, etc.?

I didn’t get a close enough look, sadly.

The parade was heavy on the Stingrays, and they did park at the show.... but no Marlins were seen. A couple ‘Cudas though.

That looks just like every Midwest car show I’ve ever been to. Lots of muscle cars, lots of corvettes, almost zero European and Japanese.

There was that Z.... a new Civic Type R (lel), a customised Kia Forte Koup with the license plate “SWTKIA”, a blob-eye STi... some others I can’t remember...

Because the Esprit is cool! Why not have something different. At this point the Esprit could have come with an I6 or V8. It is just nice to see one around especially after so many of them I am sure were swapped and made into Formulas or Trans-Am look a likes.

I had an Esprit. It was not cool. This had the same 2BBL 305 Chevy V8 mine had, but was a year newer and a lot less gold...

So yours was a 79? Guessing this one from the headlights is a 77-78. Why didn’t you like your Esprit?

Mine was a ‘77. This is a ‘78. Don’t get me wrong it was a great first car for me but was ridiculously underpowered and with better models to restore out there, it makes me wonder why they chose to dump that kind of money in a car that’ll never be worth much.

Dude.... It is worth close to $20k
That being said that Tran-Am is worth twice as much,
but maybe that was their first car and they loved it a ton. That of the Esprit was an easier car to get into if it was a recent restoration.

A perfect Esprit maybe, this one was far from that. Looked like an older restoration.

Idk, maybe that was just the car they had you know?
